Summer Reading
Expectations:
Students enrolled in the English Honors classes are expected to read during the summer break. For each of the classes listed, you will find novel recommendations and assignment information. Please read these directions carefully; many of the classes require work to be turned in the first day or week of school.
Any student enrolling in PHS or an honors class after July 10th will have until the end of August to complete the required work, but please remember this work will be in addition to the current assignments once school has started. It is in your best interest to plan ahead and complete as much as possible before school begins.
Students are expected to acquire their own copies of the summer reading novel. You may purchase it used, buy new, or borrow from the library or a friend.

Note:
Only AP Language currently requires summer reading. All courses strongly recommend reading during the summer months, and English 9 Honors students will earn extra points on first semester required coursework for getting a jumpstart on their reading during the summer. |
